ICOP 2021

About ICOP 2021

During the COVID-19 pandemic, ICOP carried the theme “Community Empowerment and COVID-19 Care.” The theme grew out of the situation in Surabaya and around the world, which was badly affected by the virus. For that reason, COP, usually known as an international KKN, became a Thematic Pandemic KKN in 2021.

Almost everyone was having a hard time in different parts of life. The theme invited local communities to become change-makers who could make a real difference: to grow stronger, adapt to the pandemic, and be a blessing to others during these tough times.

Based in the City of Surabaya, 91 Petra Christian University students worked with six neighborhoods on COVID-19 data and health campaigns, internet access for remote learning, appropriate technology, education, and small business support.
