Located in the highlands and rural communities of Mojokerto Regency, each ICOP 2024 destination has its own landscape, livelihoods, and local priorities. From agriculture and small businesses to environmental management and education, these communities hold valuable resources while facing challenges that shape their development needs.

Kesiman

Kesiman Hamlet, Rejosari Village

Kesiman is one of the two hamlets in Rejosari Village, where livelihoods largely depend on agricultural work. Its hilly landscape and rural setting influence residents’ access to homes and community facilities.

Narrow, steep roads can become difficult to navigate during rainy weather. The community also faces needs related to sanitation, health awareness, and access to educational resources.

Lebaksari

Lebaksari Hamlet, Rejosari Village

Lebaksari is one of the two hamlets in Rejosari Village and serves as the location of the village government office. However, local products have yet to reach their full economic potential. Limited business development and market access make it challenging for residents to expand their economic opportunities.

At Rejosari Elementary School, the wall paint needed renewal, creating an opportunity to improve the school environment through murals. Educational support was also needed to enrich students’ learning experiences.

Jembul

Jembul Village, Jatirejo District

Jembul is a highland village with promising tourism potential, including Coban Kabegjan Waterfall and the “Swimming Pool Above the Clouds,” a local attraction that had opened before the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, the swimming pool was closed during the pandemic and subsequently fell into disuse. Reviving the attraction presents an opportunity to encourage community involvement in tourism development and create greater economic benefits for local residents.

Sumberjati

Sumberjati Hamlet, Jatirejo District

Sumberjati is the administrative center of the village, with public facilities including government offices, a PAUD, kindergarten, and elementary school. The hamlet is also known for its small businesses producing various types of chips, which serve as an important source of income for local residents.

However, some educational facilities required improvements to create a better learning environment for children. Local MSMEs also have opportunities to strengthen product promotion and expand their market reach.

Petung

Petung Hamlet, Sumberjati Village

Petung is an agricultural community within Sumberpetung Hamlet, Sumberjati Village. Residents mainly depend on farming, while the surrounding natural environment includes forest-sourced water and a river.

Water quality is a key concern, as the main water source can become cloudy during the rainy season. Waste management and the maintenance of shared sanitation facilities are also challenges for the community.
