Located in the highlands and rural communities of Mojokerto Regency, each ICOP 2023 destination has its own landscape, livelihoods, and local priorities. From agriculture and small businesses to environmental management and education, these communities hold valuable resources while facing challenges that shape their development needs.
Kebontunggul
Geneng Hamlet, Kebontunggul Village, Gondang District
Kebontunggul is a village of around 1,800 residents where most people farm or work on Perhutani land. It offers strong natural and cultural potential, including Lembah Mbencirang nature tourism, Kampoeng Organik, and a Karawitan tradition performed every Monday and Friday night.
The village struggles with polluted river water and a deteriorating storage tank, no final waste disposal site, and damaged roads. Residents also need support in marketing local MSME products, and the mosque ceiling and Karawitan instrument storage need repair.
Rejosari
Lebaksari and Kesiman Hamlets, Rejosari Village, Jatirejo District
Rejosari is a remote village about 15 km from the district center, home to around 596 residents in Lebaksari and Kesiman hamlets. Most work as farm laborers or farmers on Perhutani land, and many sell their harvest early at low prices through middlemen.
The road to Kesiman is narrow and steep, and the elementary school building is in poor condition. Health access is limited to a weekly Polindes visit, and residents need stronger financial management skills.
Dilem
Dilem Village, Gondang District
Dilem is a small village of about 260 residents bordered by Perhutani forest, where most people are farmers or farm laborers. Local youth have started developing tourism around Bukit Semar, and residents make chips from local crops.
The village lacks a space for its elderly, and the village office toilet needs to be repositioned for privacy. Reopening the Bukit Semar trail requires management skills, and residents need training on nutrition and income generation.
